Mr. T treated Della Reese like ''his real-life mom'' when she played his mother in an episode of The A-Team

If you’re smart, you know not to mess with B.A. Baracus’s mom. Hurting her, like throwing her down the stairs and breaking her arm, is a sure way to put yourself in danger. In the A-Team episode "Lease with an Option to Die," some not-so-bright bad guys tried to take over a Chicago building where B.A.’s mom lived, not realizing they had picked the wrong woman and the wrong neighbors to mess with.

Singer and actress Della Reese played B.A. Baracus’s mom and Mr. T treated her as if she were his real mother. "He makes me feel like his real-life mom, or maybe an aunt. And I baby him. He's sweet, but he could kill a rock," she told the Chicago Tribune in 1985.

At that time, Reese was still getting comfortable in her acting career. Before acting, she was famous as a singer and had appeared on variety shows like The Ed Sullivan Show, The Perry Como Show, and The Jackie Gleason Show.

"Mr. T is a big baby, sweet, gentle, and kind," she added. In the show, Mrs. Baracus had lived alone in the same apartment for 30 years and never had to deal with a problem this big, but, of course, the A-Team took care of everything.
