Mr. T and this A-Team guest star were cool on and off the set
Guest stars add more excitement to a series, whether it's to spice up a scene with love, drama, or comedy. In The A-Team's case, guest stars were there for additional action. You know, the explosions, fighting bad guys (there were a lot of punches being thrown, just ask B.A. Baracus).
Sometimes the main cast of a show doesn't hit it off with a guest star, especially if the guest is a big celebrity with many demands. If you're a fan of Mr. T and Boy George, you'll be happy to know that the two were cool on and off the set when the star appeared in the episode "Cowboy George," which aired on February 11, 1986.
A Knight-Ridder newspaper article from the same year called the unusual duo "The Odd Couple," as they made an appearance together to promote the episode set to air within a few weeks (the article was published on January 19, 1986). During the promotion, Boy George commented on the costumes and disguises of the series' characters, including what he would wear in his one-off appearance as himself. He said he'll never feel too old for a dress.
"Because everyone else looks dumb by comparison, apart from Mr. T. But there are very few people that don't bother to make an effort, so I don't think I'd ever be boring."
"I like it because you tell it like it is, and you're your own person, you know," Mr. T said. "You don't get caught up in what people think of you. You know what you [are], and that's enough. [You’re] talented. We do what other people think of doing."
