So many words describe Sir Patrick Stewart: a Shakespearean actor, an X-Men superhero, a producer, and a director. To us, and Star Trek: The Next Generation fans, he’s our captain, Jean-Luc Picard. In July, during an exclusive conversation with TV Insider, Stewart said he was honored to be part of the franchise and the series’ 40th anniversary.

“All of these anniversaries are wildly surreal for me, but the 40th anniversary of The Next Generation is particularly remarkable. I still remember my first day driving onto the Paramount lot like it was yesterday,” he said. We’re honoring the legend with a five-episode The Next Generation tribute on Monday, November 2 starting at 8P | 7C on H&I.

Check out the schedule:

8P | 7C: “The Inner Light” – Picard awakes to find himself living in a small village where he is a well-known member of the community who is suffering from a delusion of being a starship captain.

9P | 8C: “The Measure of a Man” – When Data resigns his commission rather than be dismantled for examination by an inadequately skilled scientist, a formal hearing is convened to determine whether Data is considered property without rights or a sentient being.

10P | 9C: “The Drumhead” – A retired admiral boards the Enterprise in an effort to determine the actions aboard the ship surrounding an act of sabotage and possible treason.

11P | 10C: “Darmok” – Picard must learn to communicate with a race that speaks in metaphor under a difficult set of circumstances.

12A | 11C: “Tapestry” – When Captain Picard’s artificial heart fails, he is offered the rare opportunity to go back in time and set right the mistakes that led to his demise.
