Soon, we will be living in Peak Star Trek. We might not have the future promised in Star Trek, but we'll certainly have a load of Star Trek television shows. Each week it seems we learn more about the expanding universe — if not an entirely new series.

A couple weeks ago, we learned a little more about the upcoming Picard series. As we noted in that post, there are no fewer than five — FIVE! — upcoming Star Trek shows in the works. Well, maybe make that six.

Discovery is reported and rumored to have two spin-offs, one centering around Michelle Yeoh's character and another focusing on Capt. Pike and Spock aboard the Enterprise. Then, there is the aforementioned Picard show. Oh, and Lower Decks, the comedic animated series from the minds behind Rick and Morty. And don't forget the Starfleet Academy teen drama from creators of Gossip Girl. Oh, and maybe a Khan series?

Phew.

But we're here to talk about another upcoming Star Trek series. And this one could find a home on regular cable television, not streaming on-demand at CBS All Access.

Writers Kevin and Dan Hageman, the team behind the animated series Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, have been tapped to helm a fresh animated series aimed at younger audiences. The Hagemans also worked on the stories for The Lego Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie.

This adventure cartoon will seemingly hark back to classic Saturday morning shows — and the original Star Trek: The Animated Series, presumably. Little is known about the show, but it will air on Nickelodeon, according to a report in Variety.

So, this raised the big question: which upcoming Star Trek show most entices you?
